Heavenly flavour experiences from an earthy kitchen

The heart of Wärdshuset is the restaurant. Our kitchen is characterized by care, thoroughness and an abundant love of food. We have the good fortune to be located in a fertile region, which means we can provide locally grown and slaughtered ingredients. We place enormous emphasis on ecology and animal husbandry and we endeavour to help local food entrepreneurs and artisans.
Our cuisine is rustic and Småland-based, yet modern and influenced by the best of international gastronomy. We are a gastropub-style, down-to-earth farm kitchen. The eggs are scrambled at the breakfast table, the herring is pickled according to Grandma’s old recipe, and we treat our tomatoes as we learned to in Tuscany.

We pay a little extra for quality and we shop from farmers that take care of their land and their animals. Care for animals and ingredients is our most important spice. You are certain to notice, whether you simply drop by for a plate of creamed dill potatoes for lunch, or indulge in a tasting menu with a beer or wine package.

And if you haven’t, you must try our signature dish – classic planked steak, which we pride ourselves on preparing better than anyone else can. Like the best works of art, we have also numbered them – we are now approaching 300,000 platings.

Pasta for 2

We want to encourage meetings between two people who don’t take enough time to meet up for an evening of conversation over a simple meal. More specifically, we bet that like us, you probably wish people took more time to meet in real life instead of on social media.

The pasta is served with garlic bread and you will share a carafe of wine or a non-alcoholic option (SEK 398 for two people). Just as the name suggests, this offer has a limited number of seats, for parties of only 2 people.

Friday special

On Fridays between 5:00 pm–10:00 pm, we serve our popular Friday special: a 3-course menu for SEK 395. With this menu, we offer exciting beer or wine packages that are paired with the dishes.
